To Route Pipe Segments With Autofitting

  1. Open the Standard Preferences dialog and set the pipeline, specification and component values. For example select specification Ductile.
  2. Select place pipe options from the Piping galleries. The Pipe options list opens, select any pipe with desired End Condition and click Ok. For example, end conditions Flanged and Female end
  3. The Place Component dialog box opens.
  4. Enable Autofitting option from Autofitting tab and select desired Corner option.
  5. Pick a point in the drawing, or specify the coordinates in the AccuDraw window. An outline of the component displays.
  6. Pick another point in the drawing or enter the coordinates in the AccuDraw window to draw the pipe.
  7. (Optional) Switch the pipe ports from MAIN_PORT to RUN_PORT or vice versa from Place Component dialog's Options tab using the drop-down list. Or press the <Shift> key to switch the pipe ports while placing continuous pipe.

  8. Place a pipe segment and auto-route it to 90 degree.
    If a matching component with the valid joint is found, auto-fitting works. Auto-fitting doesn't work if no matching component is found.
  9. (Optional) Define configuration variable OPM_AUTOFITTING_SELECTION_GRID_FOR_ELBOW=1 if multiple components are available for autofitting while pipe routing.
    1. Select the desired component from the list and complete pipe routing.
    Presents you with a spec selection dialog when multiple components are available for autofitting.
